Anthea Lettings – UK Landlord living overseas
What every UK Landlord living overseas should know!!
Being a landlord living overseas can be a daunting experience, a constant worry that your property is being looked after correctly by a tenant, finding new tenants, arranging viewings, maintenance issues, rent arrears and even staying current with new legislation.
We know that letting a property can be a complicated business and failure to abide by the relevant legislation can prove extremely costly, far more expensive than having an agent manage your affairs for you. At Anthea lettings we have a service that gives you confidence that your properties are being properly managed according to the law.
Our service includes, no fees, guaranteed rents with no void periods, and payments to overseas accounts can be made if requested, and our rents are always payable in advance.
The Non-resident Landlord (NRL) Scheme is a scheme for taxing the UK rental income of persons whose ‘usual place of abode’ is outside the UK.
If you are about to become an expat Landlord, make sure you and any other registered owners who will be abroad during any tenancy periods, complete and return the Non- Resident Landlord (NRL1) form. This can be done before you have a permanent overseas address.
We advise all landlords who are planning on residing abroad to consult their own accountant who can advise them on their liabilities for NRL tax.
We take the headache away from our overseas landlords by offering free advice on how to manage the whole lettings process most effectively. We can offer advice to assist you while you’re away and to ensure you benefit whilst we manage your property. In fact, we’ll look after everything leaving you free to focus on other things.
